GX were asked by AVC, an independent packaging company, to develop an all in one mixing system. The dye is contained in the upper chamber whilst the hydrogen peroxide resides in the lower chamber. By rotating the base a seal is broken between the two chambers enabling the chemicals to mix. Continual rotation of the base ensures all the chemicals are used. The user only then has to break off the seal on the nozzle to enable the mixed colourant to flow. GX designed the product using a mixture of conventional model making and rapid prototyping techniques before moving to low cost injection moulded production runs.
