organisations which discharge effluent into rivers and
sewage systems. |
| One of the most important parameters
for measuring the quality of effluents is BOD (Biological
Oxygen Demand) which is traditionally obtained by using
the 5 day laboratory test. The water industry therefore
needed a real-time monitor to measure BOD and other
parameters, which is capable of alerting plant operators
to any deterioration in effluent quality in time for
potential pollution incidents to be circumvented. GX
designed and produced working units of the Aquascan
which is manufactured and distributed by Siemens Environmental
under License from Hyder PLC. |
